Donate and Volunteer
Just Friends receives generous donations from local foundations, churches, and service groups, as well as contributions and memorials from individuals and families in the community. The East-West Tea in partnership with the local Japanese Community in honor of "Respect for Elders Day" each September also raises funds that keep adult day services accessible to all who can benefit from it. Other community supporters donate "wish list" items such as those listed below.

Volunteer Opportunities
Serving our community makes ones own life better through the satisfaction of giving back, not to mention the benefits from being with other people, staying active, and above all having a sense of the value of ourselves in society. To volunteer at Just Friends and help in any of the following areas, contact Christina Rajanayakam at (812) 372-6415
- Writing thank-you notes
- Help maintain our garden
- To interact one-on-one with clients
- Do "show and share" of personal hobbies and crafts
- Bulletin board decoration once a month
- Beautician to fix hair, make-up and do nails for participants
- Pet Therapy (must be trained/certified)
- Share music collections, especially from WWII generation
- Volunteers from diverse backgrounds to provide cultural diversity presentations
- Journaling or videotaping participant stories
- Transport participants to or from Just Friends
- Foreign language practice opportunities
- Physical exercise buddies to help with therapeutic exercises
- Volunteer-drivers to pick up and drop back participants of our program who cannot drive themselves and have no other means of getting to Just Friends
- Volunteers to interact with participants who need the one-on-one attention (may involve walking with someone, reading to someone, doing a puzzle or playing checkers with a participant or just reminiscing with our older participants)
