• 1982 – The local Area Agency on Aging completes a needs assessment with help from the Retirement Foundation (currently known as Mill Race Center), showing the need for Adult Day Services 
  • 1985–Just Friends incorporates as Adult Day Care Corporation 
  • 1988  Just Friends serves its first five participants in “temporary” location at First Lutheran Church in Columbus
  • 1989 – Serve 15 clients annually
  • 1992—Certified to provide free services to Veterans
  • 2005Started providing transportation services
  • 2007 – Increased services to provide care for adults with higher needsAdded full time nursing and social work oversightbecame a Medicaid Waiver provider.
  • 2007 – Formally changed name to Just Friends, Inc.
  • 2008 – Receive low floor minivan to transport individuals with limited mobility
  • 2009 – Monthly caregiver support group begins
  • 2010—Receive low floor mini-vans to expand transportation services
  • 2011—Move to Mill Race Center through a collaborative capital campaign by Just Friends and Mill Race Center
  • 2014 – Became a United Way agency partner
  • 2015 – Serve 70 participants annually
  • 2017  Initiated Person-Centered Care agency wide
  • 2020 – Closed for 2.5 months due to COVID-19. Reopened due to increased need for services.
